Minnie Mude Played by Ruby Bentall is a hopeless housemaid at the post office. Lazy, dreamy and utterly unreliable, Minnie speaks whatever crosses her mind and so causes havoc wherever she goes. She is loveable and has a desperate need to belong. Now she has a home and a surrogate family at the Post Office with Dorcas. Minnie dreams that love with Alf might not be far away and in the final episode of the series Alf proposes and Minnie swoons and twitters "yes I will".
